Makya is growing so quickly, it's amazing. I love to watch her as she takes the world in, as she learns and questions and develops her own, rather amusing, personality. When recently asked what she wanted to be when she grows up. She told her parents, "I want to work at Walmart." Of course, they were horrified, but I thought it was funny. She adores me, as I do her, so naturally, if Ya-Ya works there, it must be the place to work. I have explained to her that a Walmart associate is not what I want to be when I grow up.........if I ever get there. =)Her mother is pregnant, so a couple months back, as she was watching Mommy's tummy begin to grow, she showed up in her parents' room with a teddy bear stuffed under her shirt. "Look Mommy, I have a baby too."
She is so excited for her new baby brother. When they were setting up the bassinet the other night, she began to cry. The reason, they were setting the bassinet up in their bedroom. She wailed, "I want my baby brother to sleep in my room, with me!" When they explained to her that there wasn't room with her and Ashtyn in the same room, she said, "Yes there is," and proceeded to explain to them how the room should be arranged to fit the new baby.
A couple weeks ago, she began talking about marriage. She asked her mom, "Mommy, when I grow up am I going to get married too?" Trenna told her that she probably would get married. Makya replied, "Well, when I grow up I'm going to marry you mommy." My sister explained to her that girls don't marry girls, they marry boys. Makya thought about that, then said, "Well, I'll marry Daddy then." Trenna replied, "You can't marry Daddy, because Daddy belongs to Mommy."
"I guess I'll marry Grandpa then."
"You can't marry Grandpa, because Grandpa belongs to Gradma. Usually, you marry someone who is around the same age as you."
Makya thought for a couple more minutes, and finally announced, "Well, then I'll just marry Zachry (a friend of hers from church who now lives in Florida). He's gentle." With that solved, she went off to play.
